About Symphonix-OKC and Its Founder:

Symphonix-OKC began in 2021 out of a desire to share the gift of music with people from all walks of life in all areas of Oklahoma City. By performing free concerts for community, ‘Symphonix’ has gained a loyal following of those who appreciate the unique stylings of classical and contemporary music, woven into intriguing and inspiring works of art.

Mr. Khanagov’s passion and dedication to music is evidenced in his extensive career in performing, instructing, composing, and conducting. Before emigrating to the United States as a refugee, he served as the music director of the prestigious Azerbaijan State Orchestra, ‘Gaya,’ where his musical gifts were widely recognized. Since coming to the U.S., Mr. Khanagov has performed with the Enid and Lawton Symphonies, as well as the Oklahoma Baptist Symphony. For the past thirty (30) years, he has taught violin, viola, and cello with Oklahoma City University’s Performing Arts Academy. His investment in the lives of young musicians has produced many outstanding artists, carrying with them his legacy and passion for music.

Mr. Khanagov would tell you that seeing a dream of this magnitude come to life has been the most interesting, challenging, and rewarding experience of his life. And he would remind you of this: “If good people of this world won’t do enough good things, then who will?”
